Charmaine is an occupational therapist with full registration with the Allied Health Professions Council of Singapore. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from the La Trobe University of Melbourne.

Upon graduation in 2008, Charmaine has accumulated more than a decade of experience working with children across different ages in private centres, hospitals, mainstream schools, clients’ homes both locally and overseas. She provides individual therapy, group therapy and conduct parent workshop to support children with various developmental conditions including autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia, global developmental delays, sensory processing issues and developmental coordination disorder. She assesses and intervenes in areas like social relationship, fine and gross motor, play, sensory, feeding and behavioural functioning in the child’s daily activities. She was also involved in setting up various new therapy centres, supervision of younger therapists and has presented research finding in overseas conference. Charmaine has attended diverse professional training courses and continues to build on her skill set through relevant courses and new opportunities.

 

She believes in providing care to support children and their families in a strength based and family centred manner. She appreciates the uniqueness in every child and trusts that there is no single strategy that fits all children and their families. Hence, she believes strongly in working in collaboration with caregivers, empowering them and being respectful to individual family's needs.

 

Other than her passion in working with children, Charmaine also finds joy in being a mother to her two lovely kids.
