Early Intervention Teacher

Agatha has always aspired to make a difference in the lives of children with special needs, as her father was handicapped when she was young. Her mother’s babysitting job also ignited her love and passion for children.

Along with her years of experience as an Early Interventionist with Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs), Agatha has attended numerous training programmes to equip herself with the right skills, knowledge, and the confidence to manage children with different conditions and learning difficulties.

She has worked with children with a wide spectrum of varying needs. She has helped them to develop basic life skills such as communication, adaptive daily living skills and management of money, just to name a few. She is also trained in Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), which enables her to help children who have difficulties in communicating their needs and wants.

She believes that every child is unique and special, and her goal is to provide children with the tools to communicate and express themselves, as well as help them acquire self-help skills, so that they can be independent and be part of the larger society.

She derives the most joy and fulfilment from helping a child overcome a challenge or accomplish the smallest milestone. She sees working with children as a privilege and honour, and believes in working closely with parents as a team to achieve the most optimal outcome for their children.
